Children’s Mobile responds to the needs of children and families in crisis in Bergen County. It strives to maintain children in safe and stable living arrangements by providing interventions designed to stabilize and improve relationships within the family while also addressing areas of stress, thereby reducing the need for out-of-home placement or psychiatric hospitalization.
Specialized services include:
- Response to the site of the crisis within 1 hour
- Crisis de-escalation and safety assessment
- Treatment planning
- Provision and management of stabilization services for 8 weeks
- Discharge planning, including referral for ongoing services in the community as needed
The NJ Helps website will help to see if you are eligible for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) which includes Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and General Assistance (GA), and health insurance (NJ FamilyCare and Medicaid). From there, you can apply for services or learn about additional resources.

Individuals can communicate with a community resource specialist who has been educated about federal, state and local systems created to help people who are struggling. Specialists have access to a resource database of over 7,600 community programs and services that assist people who need help with life’s most basic needs, like food, utilities, affordable housing, rental assistance, mental and physical health, substance use disorders, child care, senior needs, legal assistance, transportation, disability services and so much more.
